With Autumn slowly creeping upon us, it’s time to start thinking about new makeup trends that will likely be the fad throughout Autumn 2023. In fact, in this blog, we have compiled a list of 5 makeup trends that are in vogue for this Autumn!

So, without further ado, here is our list (in no particular order):

Cloud Skin

We’ve heard of glass skin and airbrushed skin, but what exactly is cloud skin? Coined by makeup artist, Dominic Skinner, this 2023 trend is the perfect balance between the dewy glass skin, and the refined matte skin. In essence, cloud skin encompasses a glossy and fresh look, without the greasiness. 

Honing in on a soft appearance, cloud skin is perfect for Autumn makeup looks, especially if you’re interested in creating dreamy and sophisticated looks. A key aspect of this makeup trend is skincare and, of course, highlighter. 

White Eyeliner

This makeup trend is the ideal way to help you look and appear more awake – which is great because we all know that Autumn is the season for lie-ins and nap times. The best thing about it is that there are a number of different ways that you can incorporate white eyeliner into your makeup looks!

Here’s a few:

  • White wings
  • Across your lids
  • On your waterline
  • Cat eye

Don’t be afraid to experiment! White eyeliner can add that extra pop of color to your lids during a season where the palette consists of earthy tones and shades.

Brown Tones

Speaking of the season palette, you can’t forget to incorporate brown tones into your makeup looks this Autumn! We’re not just talking about eyeshadows here – from lipsticks to lip glosses, brown (and its varieties) are the colors to turn to this season. 

It was a fad in the ‘90s, and there’s no reason why they can’t be a fad in 2023 – in fact, warm neutrals are coming back, and you can join the bandwagon by investing in brown toned lipsticks!

Just remember that brown lipsticks, like any lipstick, can appear different on various skin tones, so there might be a little trial and error before you can find the perfect shade for you. 

Bold Lip

While brown is a bold lip color to go for, there are also other colors that deserve your attention. A new makeup trend that you need to keep an eye out for is the bold lip look, and by this, we mean literally just the bold lip. 

That’s right – bare-faced, or minimal base, where the center of attention is on your lips. From bright reds and dark purples, to hot pinks and warm oranges. Play around a bit, there’s no harm in experimenting with different lip colors! 

Faux Freckles

Faux freckles aren’t new, but they haven’t been seen much since they became overshadowed by newer and more popular makeup trends. However, this is about to change this Autumn when they make a comeback! 

Not all of us have been blessed with freckles, so being able to easily recreate them using a brown liquid eyeliner or eyebrow pencil is amazing. Plus, you can make them look extremely natural!
